Indian Boxing Team Secures Five Medals at Asian Championships
India, 27 December 2025 — The Indian boxing team concluded the Asian Boxing Championships with an impressive haul of five medals, including two golds, in Bangkok, Thailand. Indian pugilists showcased their growing prowess on the continental stage by clinching two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
The gold medals were won by Amit Panghal in the 52kg category and Lovlina Borgohain in the 69kg category. Panghal, a former World Championships silver medalist, displayed exceptional skill and tenacity to overcome Uzbekistan’s Shakhobidin Zoirov in a closely contested bout.
Borgohain continued her exceptional form, defeating her opponent from Kazakhstan to secure the top podium spot. The silver medal was claimed by Shiva Thapa in the 63kg category, while the bronze medals were earned by Nikhat Zareen and Manish Kaushik.
