India's Rohan Bopanna Announces Retirement from Professional Tennis

India, 26 December 2025 — Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna has announced his retirement from professional tennis, marking the end of a distinguished career that spanned over two decades. The 45-year-old doubles specialist confirmed his decision on Monday, during a press conference in Bengaluru.

Bopanna, known for his powerful serve and volley game, has been a prominent figure in Indian tennis, having achieved a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 3 in 2013. He has represented India in multiple Davis Cup ties and was a key member of the Indian team at various international tournaments, including the Olympics.

Throughout his career, Bopanna clinched numerous ATP doubles titles and made a significant mark on the Grand Slam stage, winning the mixed doubles title at the French Open in 2017 alongside Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski.
