India's Top Boxers Shine in National Boxing Championships
India, 21 December 2025 — The ongoing National Boxing Championships in Guwahati has witnessed stellar performances from India's top pugilists. The event, which began on 19 December, has attracted over 500 boxers from across the country, competing in various weight categories.
In the men's section, Shiva Thapa, a former Asian champion, displayed exceptional skill and power as he advanced to the semifinals in the 63.5 kg category. Thapa, hailing from Assam, secured a unanimous decision victory against his opponent in the quarterfinals.
In the women's division, Lovlina Borgohain, the Olympic bronze medalist, dominated her bout in the 69 kg category, moving confidently into the semifinals. Borgohain's technical prowess and strategic approach have been highlights of her performances so far.
