PV Sindhu Withdraws from BWF World Tour Finals Due to Injury

India, 15 December 2025 — Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu has withdrawn from the ongoing BWF World Tour Finals taking place in Bangkok due to a foot injury. Sindhu, who was set to compete in the women's singles category, decided to pull out of the tournament following medical advice. The injury was sustained during her practice sessions earlier this week.

The BWF World Tour Finals is one of the most prestigious events in the badminton calendar, featuring the top eight players in the world. Sindhu's withdrawal is a significant blow to her as well as her fans, as she was considered a strong contender for the title.

Confirming her withdrawal, Sindhu expressed her disappointment, stating, 'I was really looking forward to competing, but the injury has set me back. I hope to recover soon and return to the court.'

Her absence from the tournament leaves a gap in the women's singles draw, allowing one of the reserve players to take her place. The tournament, which commenced on December 13, will continue till December 17.

Sindhu's team is focusing on her recovery, ensuring she is fit for the upcoming international fixtures. The 28-year-old has been a consistent performer on the international stage and her health will be crucial for India's future campaigns.
