How many 6801 bearings does a typical hub need?

Most hubs use 2 radial bearings per hub — one on each end of the axle. Some hubs use 2 bearings per side (4 total). Check your hub manufacturer's service manual for the exact count.

Can I grease these bearings before installation?

Enduro LLB bearings are pre-greased from the factory. You can add a small amount of light grease to the bore of the hub shell before pressing in, but do not over-grease as this creates excess drag.
