What is the difference between BB-MT500-PA and SM-BB52?

The MT500-PA is the updated DEORE press-fit BB with improved sealing and rotation compared to the older SM-BB52. Both fit the same press-fit shells and HOLLOWTECH II cranks, but the MT500-PA is the current production part.

Does this fit a 73mm threaded BB frame?

No — this is press-fit only. A 73mm threaded shell requires a threaded bottom bracket such as the Shimano SM-BB52 or BB-MT500.
