What is the difference between organic and sintered pads?

Organic pads use a resin-bonded compound that is softer, quieter, and offers more progressive modulation. Sintered (metallic) pads are harder, more heat-resistant, and last longer in wet conditions but have a more abrupt feel and wear rotors faster.

How do I know when to replace my SRAM disc brake pads?

Replace when compound thickness falls below 1mm, when braking performance noticeably reduces, or when the pad spreader spring is no longer pushing pads away from the rotor. Squealing can indicate contamination or worn pads.

Do these pads work with Avid Elixir brakes?

Yes - the pad shape is listed as Avid Elixir / SRAM Level / Force AXS HRD compatible. Avid was SRAM's brake brand before being rebranded as SRAM, and the pad shape has remained consistent.
