Prince Power Beast 150 squash racket review for Indian players

The Prince Power Beast 150 Squash Racket is listed at ₹2,999 on InstaSport. Prince is a long-established squash brand and the Power Beast line is aimed at players who want a branded racket without a premium price. This review sticks to what the listing confirms and how to decide.

Who it suits

It suits beginners and improvers who have played a few months and want their own racket. If you are starting out, our squash racket guide for beginners explains weight and balance.

Power Beast 150 versus the 150 ST

InstaSport also lists the Power Beast 150 ST at ₹2,339, which is cheaper. Both share the Power Beast name; check the product pages for differences in specification before choosing, and pick the cheaper if budget is the priority.

Stepping up: Genesis Power 200

The Prince Genesis Power 200 at ₹4,354 is the step-up. If you already play twice a week, it may be the better long-term buy.

Buying tips

  • Hold the racket and check grip size feels comfortable.

Verdict

At ₹2,999, the Power Beast 150 is a sensible first branded squash racket. Warm up properly; this is not medical advice, but sudden lunges on court are common injury moments.

Racket weight and balance basics

Squash rackets are light compared with tennis or badminton frames, and small weight differences matter. Head-heavy rackets add power at the cost of manoeuvrability, while head-light rackets feel quicker around the body. If you are not sure, a balanced racket is a safe starting point. Check the stated weight and balance on the product page and compare with your current racket if you have one.

Grips, strings and extras

A fresh grip makes a budget racket feel better than an old one, and a replacement grip costs little. String tension affects feel; ask a stringer for a medium tension if you are unsure. A racket cover protects the frame in your bag.

Eye protection

Squash is played in a small enclosed court with a fast ball. Eye protection is strongly recommended for all players, especially in doubles or with beginners. Look for goggles that meet a squash-specific standard.
