Titleist Pro V1 vs Pro V1x vs AVX vs Tour Soft: Which Golf Ball Should You Play? (India)
Pro V1, Pro V1x, AVX or Tour Soft? Here is how Titleist's main golf balls differ on flight, feel and price in India, and who should play each.
Titleist Pro V1 vs Pro V1x: which golf ball should you play?
Titleist makes the best-known premium golf balls, and the range can confuse new buyers. The main choice is between Pro V1, Pro V1x, AVX and Tour Soft. Prices below are InstaSport listings at the time of writing. For wider background, see our guide to choosing golf balls.
Pro V1 vs Pro V1x: the key differences
Both are listed at ₹6,645. The Pro V1 is described with a mid flight, softer feel and consistent spin and control around the greens. The Pro V1x is described with a high flight, low long-game spin and explosive distance off the tee. In general, the V1 suits players who want a lower, more penetrating flight and softer feel, while the V1x suits players who want to launch the ball higher and prefer a slightly firmer feel.
AVX and Tour Soft
The Titleist AVX (₹5,490) is listed with a very soft feel, very low long-game and iron spin, and a large core. It is a good fit if you want a premium ball with a lower flight and a soft feel at a lower price than the V1 family. The Tour Soft (₹4,190) is described as combining distance, stopping power and soft feel, a sensible step for mid-handicap players. The Titleist Velocity (₹3,349) is the distance-focused value option.

How to decide
- Single-digit handicap: try both V1 and V1x on the course and pick the flight you control better.
- Mid handicap: Tour Soft often gives you most of the feel at a lower price.
- High handicap or lost-ball territory: read our high-handicap golf balls guide before paying premium prices.
Compression also matters for slower swing speeds; see golf ball compression explained. Buy from a reputable seller, because fake premium balls circulate in many markets.
