Satwik-Chirag Duo Advances to Semifinals in BWF World Tour Finals

India, 19 December 2025 — Indian badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have advanced to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Finals. The duo secured their place with a decisive victory against Japan's Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi in Bangkok, Thailand. The match, played on 18 December, saw the Indian pair winning in straight sets, 21-18, 21-16. Rankireddy and Shetty, currently ranked among the world's top doubles teams, have shown impressive form throughout the tournament. Their advancement is significant as they aim to build momentum going into the 2026 season. The semifinals are scheduled for 20 December, where they will face Indonesian pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. The outcome is eagerly anticipated, with the Indian duo looking to continue their strong performance.
