India Opts to Bat First Against Afghanistan in T20 World Cup Super 8 Match
In the opening Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first against Afghanistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
India made one change to their playing XI, bringing in wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav in place of pacer Mohammed Siraj. Afghanistan also made a single change, with Hazratullah Zazai replacing Karim Janat.
India's batting lineup boasts a formidable top order, with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul forming a potent trio. Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Hardik Pandya provide depth and power-hitting capabilities.
Afghanistan's bowling attack will be led by the experienced Rashid Khan, who is known for his deceptive leg-spin. Mohammad Nabi, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Fazalhaq Farooqi will provide support with their pace and spin variations.
The match is crucial for both teams as they aim to secure a strong start in the Super 8 stage. India will be looking to continue their impressive form, while Afghanistan will be eager to upset the favorites.
