"The biggest thing he (Kohli) said to me was that he will back me the whole season," Dayal told Sports Tak. "He told me that I will not feel like I have come to a new place, and he backed me completely. So this was a huge boost up."

Dayal also praised Kohli's mentorship of young players, describing him as "nothing like what people talk about on TV."

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah congratulated Kohli on completing 16 years of international cricket. Kohli made his debut in 2008 against Sri Lanka and has since become one of the most successful batters in the history of the game.
