Diamondbacks Crush Cardinals 14-1, Smith Drives in Six

In a dominant display, the Arizona Diamondbacks crushed the St. Louis Cardinals 14-1 on Tuesday night, powered by a career-high six RBIs from Pavin Smith.

Smith's grand slam in the sixth inning broke the game open, giving the Diamondbacks a commanding 11-1 lead. He also contributed a two-run double in the fifth, showcasing his offensive prowess.

Christian Walker and Kevin Newman also went deep for Arizona, with Walker's three-run homer in the third inning giving the Diamondbacks an early advantage. Newman's two-run homer in the fifth highlighted a six-run outburst that put the game out of reach.

Tommy Henry was equally impressive on the mound for Arizona, earning his first win of the season. The left-hander allowed just one run on five hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one.

The Cardinals, who have now lost five of their last six games, struggled to keep pace with the Diamondbacks' offensive onslaught. Willson Contreras provided their lone highlight with a solo homer, but it was not enough to prevent the lopsided defeat.

Steven Matz had a rough outing for St. Louis, surrendering seven runs on six hits in just 4 1/3 innings. He finished with four strikeouts and three walks.

The Diamondbacks' victory was further enhanced by Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s three hits and Randal Grichuk's 1,000th career hit.
