Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic champion in men's javelin throw, is the star attraction of the team. His exceptional performance in Tokyo, where he clinched India's first-ever Olympic gold in athletics, has raised expectations for another podium finish in Paris.
Other medal contenders include PV Sindhu, the two-time Olympic medalist in badminton, and Lovlina Borgohain, the bronze medalist in boxing at the Tokyo Games. Achanta Sharath Kamal, the veteran table tennis player, and Manu Bhaker, the shooting prodigy, are also expected to make a strong impact.
The contingent is well-represented across various sports. In archery, Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav will lead the charge, while Mirabai Chanu will be the lone weightlifter in the team. The hockey team, both men's and women's, will be aiming to improve upon their performances in Tokyo.
