Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, the father of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, passed away at the age of 69. Bryant, a former NBA player and coach, played for the Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and Houston Rockets during his career. He also played professionally in Europe for several years.

After retiring from playing, Bryant coached the La Salle University men's basketball team from 1993-1996. He later coached the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's NBA and several teams in Asia.

Bryant's son, Kobe, was one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He won five NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 2008. Kobe Bryant tragically died in a helicopter crash in 2020 at the age of 41.

Joe Bryant was a beloved figure in the basketball community. He was known for his infectious personality and his love of the game. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans.
